Coffee Enthusiast 3-Pack

Kona is close to my heart. I spent 5 years of my career living and working on coffee farms in the Kona districts. I learned the process of coffee from the seed to the cup. Spending 5 years on farms allowed a perspective on the lives of farmers that would be hard to imagine. Ever-shifting weather patterns and insect damage can devastate Hawaii’s farmers and communities around the world.

Signature Blends

Lake House Blend

My earliest memories of coffee have inspired our blend called Lake House.

As a kid, I remember waking up early at the lake house cabin on cool summer mornings to the smell of coffee and waffles from the kitchen. In the foreground, misty hills were reflecting off the glassy lake waters, birds sounding a new day, the first warming rays of the sun coming over the horizon, with a cup of coffee in hand, having conversations with family. Few things in life are better. This breakfast-style blend is perfect for pour-over, french press, and drip brewers. A medium roast that brings out the sweetness and complexity in each blend component is made using coffee from Central America, Africa, and Indonesia. This exceptional blend features notes of rich milk chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and hints of strawberry, coffee blossom, and Asian pear. Smooth mouthfeel and sweetness give way to a subtle brightness and a clean lingering finish. This one’s for you, dad… Thank you for everything.

Leannore

This coffee is named for and inspired by my mom, who, without her, none of this would have been possible.

She has shown and taught me patience, love, and forgiveness. These traits and more have helped hone me to become the person I am today. She has always been there for me during hard times and the good times of my life. It’s been a long road from coffee milk as a kid to now chatting about life with my mom over a Latte, but here we are. This coffee is a shoutout to moms everywhere, but especially this one is for the one I have had the privilege to call mom. Thank you for everything! This blend is unique and special as it features Columbian coffee from an all-woman coop. This coffee is best brewed as a traditional drip-style coffee. We roast the beans to a medium dark to dark. The satisfying flavors include notes of dark chocolate, honey, caramel, and a floral aroma. A syrupy mouthfeel, mild acidity, and a clean finish with hints of roasty goodness complement the overall taste, aroma, and texture. Make a good morning great by brewing this coffee.

Tris Rios

Drip blend, Med-med dark
This coffee is specially crafted and blended for the people who call the three rivers area their home.

This area has been my family’s home for three generations. I am proud to be from here, so I have chosen this place to start my coffee roasting company. Here where the big river bends at the confluence of the Cowlitz, Coweeman, and Columbia rivers, lies all of the things that make the pacific northwest great. Summers full of intertube floating down the Toutle river, hiking around Mt St Helens, and backyard barbecues with family and friends, watching beautiful sunsets fade into darkness. Summers gently give way to autumn’s changing leaves with walks around lake Sacajawea, and we can’t forget this is fantasy football time of year as well. It’s time to be reflective and thankful for what we have. As winter approaches, this area can be breathtaking, from the changing views of the surrounding mountains turning white with snow and beckoning for different activities. It’s this time of year to find comfortable hoodies and sit by warm fires as the excitement and joy of the holiday celebrations find us hustling and bustling, rounding out winter activities. Then, as the snow turns to rain and the warming temperatures turn to eager anticipation of spring gardens coming to life with flowers blooming. The air smells different, and the days are getting longer. Now is the time to do spring cleaning chores from the winter’s effects and prepare for summer’s return. Finally, any season is a time to celebrate our community and this great place we call home. All of you inspired this coffee; thank you for welcoming Rivers Bend Coffee into the community and your homes; we appreciate and welcome you with open arms.

Decafe

Rivers Bend ESP

Espresso blend
Espresso roast

Rivers Bend Espresso blend is named for the prominent turn that the Columbia river takes as it flows west toward the ocean. This river not only defines the shape of states, it tells the history of the place. It shows us how it came to be by carving into the ground to expose the geological history, it has provided for the native peoples who have lived along shores since man first set eyes on it, and now it has allowed for economic growth and the stability of the pacific northwest. This coffee aims to recognize the history of native peoples and the land that we all call home.

Falling Leaf

One of the great things about the Pacific Northwest are the changing colors of the leaves in Autumn.

Greens give way to reds, yellows, and oranges and all too soon the leaves start to fall. This blend aims to capture that with a coffee that is a little earthy and peaty with hints of smoke and spice and an aroma that is reminiscent of the forest in the fall. Great for any occasion as a drip coffee, French press, or pour over. Falling Leaf blend, like the leaves on a tree will only be around for a short while so enjoy it while you can.

Providencia, located in the Huehuetenango region, Guatemala. Owned and operated by Maximiliano Palacios (Max), a third-generation coffee farmer. Exceptionally bright and memorable coffees are the signature of this business-forward coop that carries multiple certifications for its many washing stations, including Fair Trade, Organic, Rainforest Alliance, and UTZ, and more than 80% of its workforce is women. This is a truly amazing coffee with an even better story.

Sumatra

This coffee is derived from 3 plantations situated in the Aceh province’s

Takengon highlands on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Kilang Kopi Lek Sujimin and Kilang Kopi Haji Warsidi, who have more than ten years of expertise in growing and processing coffee, are the owners of the farms. Fajar Jeumpa is a family-run export business that runs its own dry mill and offers logistics for shipping and exporting coffee without using drawn-out supply chains that could lower the coffee’s quality. Yemen Mocca

Yemen is the most likely location of coffee that was first brewed as the beverage we know today.

Coffee seeds from coffee’s birthplace of Ethiopia were first transported to Yemen in the late 15th century. It was here that the cultivation, harvesting, processing, roasting, and brewing of coffee was first documented by Sufi monks in their monasteries. However, it wasn’t until the 1800’s that the first recorded export of coffee was documented, making the tradition of coffee and coffee drinking a relatively new experience. This Yemen Mocha coffee is the most storied coffee we have seen, and we strongly urge you to take a minute and learn more at the link below. If this description has caught your interest, then maybe check out the PBS series Black Coffee for a deeper dive into the history of the bean.

Cuppa Joe Blends

Breakfast Blend

This is the perfect cup to get your morning started.

This blend of East African and Central American coffees has a smooth and easy drinking approachability. It’s nothing fancy, just good, honest coffee. This blend is great as drip coffee and pairs well with flavored creamers if that’s your thing.

French Blend

You asked for it, and now you have it! This blend is for the coffee drinker who likes it dark.

A traditional style French roast that is roasted and smokey, with a little bite. We utilize coffee that is grown at high elevations in order to preserve the flavor through the roasting process. French roasts are longer and hotter than other roasts, and high-elevation coffee is more dense, so it is able to handle this extreme process. Finding the right balance takes time, and now we think we have reached a point where we are ready to release it to the world. We hope you enjoy our take on traditional French roast coffee.

House Blend

This blend is the ultimate “Cuppa Joe.” Easy drinking and approachable with a smooth mouthfeel, rich flavor, and sweetness.

Don’t overthink it.  It’s just good coffee anytime you are in the mood for coffee.

Midnight Blend

This coffee was inspired by all those who are up late

You night owls, shift workers, nurses, emergency services providers, and students getting in that late-night study session. This caffeine-rich blend has just enough bite to keep you going. With great flavor and drinkability, you will be able to drink cup after cup. We hope you enjoy this blend that will keep you going well into the wee hours of the morning.
